Thick thighs generally are owned by pear shape body. Or if you have short legs long torso like me, you might also gain fats around thighs and hips very easy.
Now everyone probably already knows that the worst pants for pear shape body is any skinny jeans/pants. But do you know that oversized or loose pants don't necessarily look flattering on your thighs?
then what pants are gonna make our body more balanced, then?
these are my 3 criteria when it comes to pants that can make our hips & legs look slimmer.
shop tanktop; leggings from H&M, shop pants
see the difference?
1. make sure it's really loose on thighs.
when your thighs have enough room, the pants will conceal your thigh and make it look slimmer, compared to pants that is slimmer & skinnier. also the flare shape will balance out your hips and make a slimmer legs illusion.
2. make sure it fits really fit on your waist.
choose pants that are loose on thighs but fit on your waist. or belt it up! because when your pants sit nicely on your waist, it will draw the attention right at your waist instead of your hips and thighs, and make your body appear slimmer overall.
if you have big tummy, wear a black pants will help reduce the appearance of tummy bulge, or you can wear long outer like oversized shirt or blazer to cover up. see? problem solved.
3. make sure the material is lightweight & flowy.
ever wonder why some pants make you look fatter even though it's loose and wide? because the material is thick and stiff. when it's heavy and stiff it won't fall nicely and can look your body appear 'wider' horizontally. we don't want that.
this is the example of wide, highwaist, fit at the waist pants, but because the material is stiff and thick, it makes my legs wider than the previous pants.
what about slim fit pants or pencil pants?
even though I have love-hate relationship with this pants because they kinda make my hips exposed due to its shape.. we all can agree that this pants are so chic and can look good to balance out oversized top.
so my tips are style it like this! with turtleneck top, oversized shirt buttoned up to create V shape, then tucked in. this way, the oversized top can balance out the hips while the V shape can create elongating effect and be the focus of the outfit.
hope it helps!
